My painting evolves through phases of erasure and addition. I start by etching the composition into plaster that has been spread and smoothed onto stretched canvas. Through a methodical process of applying paint, then sanding and scrubbing it back, I gradually build a subtle surface. The interplay between what endures and what is removed creates a rich, charged picture plane, imbued with its own history and narrative.
